Numbers tell the story The picture Carolina painted confirmed why London is such an attractive city for global businesses and business students alike: 27,000 foreign companies are based in London. London has the most international students of any city in the world, welcoming more than 120,000 every year, more than double the next city closest to that number which is New York with 50,000 a year. 40% of London’s workforce was born abroad. There are more than 500,000 industry and networking events in London every year. Home to TechCity with more than 3,000 start-ups, London is the digital capital of Europe, second only to Silicon Valley. Finance continues to be London’s leading industry, employing more than  ½ million people in the city. Massi Maggi, from Spain, is now an investment banker in, where else, London. Aiva Svede is living in her home country of Latvia working for a consulting firm and lecturing in Risk Management. And Fernando Cabral recently sold his satirical political newspaper in Portugal for a tidy profit and was busy regaling his old classmates with his travel plans and his next investment options. Swapping personal and professional stories, it was clear to see the strength of life-long friendships that started here at Hult. This site had various pages explaining what stem cells are, the different types, what they can be used for, when they will be able to be used, and where more information can be found. The site explains stem cells as being distinguishable from other cells in two ways. They are unspecialized cells capable of regeneration through cell division, and they can form different organ- and tissue- specific cells under certain conditions. After explaining the basic properties of stem cells they explain the three types of stem cells and what makes them different. Embryonic stem cells are collected from embryos that are formed through in vitro fertilization. These embryos have to donated from donors that have been given consent in order to use them for research. The website explains, in detail, how these embryos are created in a lab. It also explains how the cells can be manipulated to form the desired mature cel l product. If all smokers in the United States stopped smoking in 2006, 2.8 million premature deaths would be prevented between then and 2025 (Kliff). Also, the money spent on health would decrease by $211 billion in that same time period (Kliff). The health benefits of smoking bans are unquestionable, but the other aspects of it are arguable. A popular belief is that restaurants who ban smoking will receive a considerably lesser amount of money than restaurants that do not ban smoking because smokers will not go to restaurants that refuse to accommodate their customers. â€Å"The results of our naive specifications indicate that smoking bans have a large negative effect on restaurant revenues† (Fleck and Hanssen 61). Another argument that opposes smoking bans is that anybody is free to smoke anywhere and anytime they please, and that the practice of smoking bans will take away a person’s rights. These people believe that if a person smokes, it is their decision and right to do so , regardless of the health consequences (â€Å"In Defense of Smokers† 4). This change in corporate strategy with regards to corporate social responsibility is despite the several examples of big business enterprises going forward to remain more than competitive in their spheres of business activity through showing due diligence to their responsibility to society, through the corporate responsibility strategies. The only way to shift this negative trend in business enterprise thinking on corporate social responsibility is for stronger government regulations and framework that are coercive towards the real intents of corporate social responsibility. Failure to achieve this will diminish the intent of corporate social responsibility by business enterprises (Evans, 2010).

In English, words such as mankind and chairman are used to denote set positions for both men and women though they are biased to the male side. However, in my life I have encountered problems with managing my personal finances. In the past, I spent my money irresponsibly. Despite making a decent salary, it was a challenge trying to maintain my financial responsibilities and not something I was very concerned about. I felt as though I was living paycheck to paycheck, when the reality was I simply did a poor job of managing my funds. Now that I have grown up and have a son, my expenses have increased tremendously. Although he is my biggest joy, having to take care of him has worsened my inability to manage and save money properly. When I should be saving money for his college education, instead I spent $500 on toys for Christmas. Therefore, learning how to effectively manage my finances is vitally important in order to secure a healthy and rewarding future for myself and my son. Information to Resolve My Daily Problem As I consider how to resolve my constant problem of saving money, I have identified these information sources as possible resources: 1.  I would use my 401(k) investment catalog to discover more information about how to invest money into different stocks and bonds. 2. I would contact Diana Marrero-Pinto, Director of Housing at the Lorain County Community Action Agency, Inc. to register for the Budgeting Bootcamp seminar. 3. I would search the Internet for reliable resources on how to save money in a bad economy. I would look for such resources in the following manner. I would contact my 401(k) representative to schedule a meeting to discuss my account and possible investments. I would contact Diana Marrero-Pinto to discuss the Budgeting Bootcamp seminar and other training opportunities. I would visit the University of Phoenix Library for articles and book excerpts on budgeting and saving money. Process for Evaluating My Resources In order to evaluate the information that I would gather to resolve my problem, I would consider the source of that information. If I am interviewing professionals, I would ensure that they have a background in finance or experience working with people on how to manage their personal finances. If I am looking at Internet resources, I would be cautious nreliable websites that contain non-factual information. I believe, the Wall Street Journal website has reliable information since it is a nationally renowned newspaper in the United States. Another really reliable resource would be the University of Phoenix Library, because college officials ensure the information is reliable for students. The articles and books available on the University of Phoenix Library allow thousands of students to feel confident about the reliability and accuracy of the resources retrieved from the website. Ways to Use This Information to Resolve the Problem The process of problem-solving includes the ability to utilize self-knowledge to figure out solutions to a problem (Carter, Bishop, Kravits, 2007). I believe there are four stages in problem-solving: analyzing, synthesizing, applying, and evaluating. First, analyze the problem or issue by identifying the possible causes for why the problem occurred. Next, synthesize all the data that explains the problem and brainstorm possible solutions. According to Carter, Bishop, and Kravits (2007), â€Å"When you are brainstorming ideas, don’t get hooked on finding the one right answer. Questions may have many â€Å"’right answers’- or many answers that have degrees for usefulness† (para. 52). From these possible solutions create a plan of action, outlining important goals with timeframes for completion. Once the goals and timeframes are established, I will begin to apply the goals set forth in order to solve my problem. Later, I will evaluate the process it took to solve my problem, and decide if the process was dependable. This will help me to make better decisions in the future.
